Food Technology


Gnanamani College of Engineering was established in the year 2009.We are happy and feel proud to inform that our college has been approved with a new course, B.Tech-Food Technology for the year 2018.

With the fast-paced life, consuming the right food is very important to human and this need has led to the emergence of food technology courses, which are branch of food science, that deal with food production, preservation, processing, packaging, distribution and use of safe nutritious and wholesome food.

What is B.Tech in Food Technology?

The young generation is finding Food Technology and its applications in the food industry quite interesting, and therefore opting for B.Tech in Food Technology as their initial stepping-stone. The course is the application of food science to select, process, preserve and package food to retain its nutrition and taste for a longer duration. Students opting for this course learn about the skills required in food technology and management. Depending on the specialisation, students learn every little detail about food microbiology, biochemistry, packaging and food formulation technology and food chemistry
